Located in Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul, the Centro Universitário Metodista – IPA has its history connected to Colégio Americano and Porto Alegre College, founded respectively in 1885 and 1923.
In the 1970’s both institutions began to offer higher education in health sciences, tracing their commitment to human rights and inclusion. In 2004, the project for the creation of a university center came into action, uniting both colleges and offering a broad catalog of courses in different fields.
IPA achieves to produce, develop, promote and preserve science, technology and culture, aiming for the evolution of critical thinking and the compromise with society’s transformation.
